All the details on the final Ibercup Estoril 2022 tournament in Portugal
One more summer we traveled to Portugal to participate in the IberCup Estoril soccer tournament, which is held every year during the first week of July on the coast of Lisbon. IberCup is one of the most popular and prestigious youth soccer tournaments in the world, gathering every year about 10,000 players, coaches and fans from all corners of the planet.
We traveled there with our client, a renowned Club from the United States, which participated in this edition of the tournament with no less than five teams in the following categories:
- Female U14 – born in 2008
- Female U12 – born in 2010
- Boys U14 – born in 2008
- Boys Under 11 – born in 2011
- Boys Under 09 – born in 2013
Welcome meeting for the players, relatives and coaches
It has been 8 days of intense activity and matches against great teams such as Sporting CP, Benfica SL or SC Rio Tinto in the case of the girls, or against Os Belenenses, Casa Pia and Madrid Panthers in the case of the boys.
Pre-match moments
In addition to the 5 teams with their respective coaches, the group also was formed by a large group of parents who have also participated in the tournament by cheering in each match and attending the events prepared by the organization such as the opening ceremony held at the Cascais hippodrome.
Beyond living the experience of the competition, the group was also able to enjoy free time visiting the city of Lisbon, the coast of Cascais and the palace of Sintra among others. It is worth mentioning the trip of the last day, where we went to visit the Costa da Caparica, located on the southern shore of the mouth of the Tagus river on its way out to the Atlantic. An impressive coastal area with long beaches of fine sand and a multitude of stores and restaurants around.
